Mafia: The Old Country is an upcoming action-adventure game set to launch on August 8, 2025. Developed by Hangar 13 and published by 2K, it serves as a prequel to the original Mafia and marks the fourth main installment in the franchise. Presented from a third-person perspective, Mafia: The Old Country blends cinematic, narrative-driven gameplay with open-world elements—drawing inspiration from the structure and tone of Mafia and Mafia II.
Set in early 1900s Sicily, the story unfolds in the fictional town of San Celeste—previously featured in Mafia II. The game explores the roots of the Sicilian Mafia through the eyes of Enzo Favara (portrayed by Riccardo Frascari), a young man who escapes a life of indentured servitude in the island’s sulphur mines to eventually become part of the notorious Torrisi crime family.
