New TV and Streaming This Week 19 – 25 October 2026

The clocks are about to go back, the evenings are drawing in, and the week ahead is one of the busiest of the autumn for TV and streaming in the UK. Netflix has two of its biggest returning series landing within 24 hours of each other, Prime Video brings back Chris Pratt’s military thriller after a four-year wait, and Sunday night turns into a head-to-head between two major new dramas on BBC One and ITV1.

Below we round up the most anticipated new TV shows and returning series arriving across Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Paramount+, NOW, BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5, with a synopsis for each one and details of exactly when and where to watch.

This Week’s TV and Streaming Releases at a Glance

1. This City Is Ours (Series 2) – BBC One and BBC iPlayer

When: Sunday 25 October, 9pm, continuing on Monday. All eight episodes are available as a box set on BBC iPlayer from the same day.

Stephen Butchard’s Liverpool crime saga was the BBC’s most-watched new drama of 2025, pulling in an average of more than six million viewers and earning BAFTA nominations for Best Drama and for lead actor James Nelson-Joyce. The first series followed a cocaine-smuggling family firm thrown into turmoil when its ageing boss, Ronnie Phelan (Sean Bean), decided to step down, sparking a brutal battle for succession between his son and his trusted lieutenant, Michael Kavanagh.

Series two picks up the story of Michael (Nelson-Joyce) and Diana (Hannah Onslow), the star-crossed couple whose hopes of escaping the criminal world were left in pieces by the explosive finale. Money Heist star Álvaro Morte joins the cast as Felipe, hinting that the Spanish side of the operation will play a bigger part this time. Expect the same mix of family loyalty, betrayal and sudden violence that earned the show its “Scouse Sopranos” nickname.

2. Adultery – ITV1 and ITVX

When: Sunday 25 October, 9pm, continuing Monday 26 October at 9pm. Every episode is available to stream on ITVX from launch.

Going straight up against the BBC on Sunday night is this six-part relationship drama from Danny Brocklehurst, the BAFTA-winning writer behind Fool Me Once and Brassic. Dominic Cooper plays Tom Kirkman and Romola Garai plays Beth Brookes, two parents who meet when Tom’s 15-year-old daughter Jess and Beth’s son Ollie fall head over heels for each other at school.

The attraction between the adults is instant and overwhelming, and as Tom and Beth begin a passionate affair they risk tearing apart both of their families. Shelley Conn and Matthew McNulty co-star as their spouses. Filmed in and around Manchester, the series tackles class, grief and the pressure of social media, and Brocklehurst reportedly shot multiple endings to keep viewers guessing.

3. Lupin (Part 4) – Netflix

When: Friday 23 October, all eight episodes.

Omar Sy’s gentleman thief Assane Diop is finally back after almost three years away, the longest gap yet for one of Netflix’s most-watched non-English series. Inspired by Maurice Leblanc’s classic Arsène Lupin stories, the French thriller combines elaborate heists across Paris with a deeply personal family story.

Part 3 ended on a cliffhanger with Assane behind bars, and this new chapter picks up from there, with a time jump that finds him having seemingly given up his Lupin persona and planning a quieter life with his family once he is released. Naturally, it doesn’t stay quiet for long. Ludivine Sagnier, Antoine Gouy, Soufiane Guerrab and Shirine Boutella all return.

4. Nobody Wants This (Season 3) – Netflix

When: Thursday 22 October, all ten episodes.

The Emmy-nominated romantic comedy about an agnostic podcaster and a rabbi returns almost exactly a year after season two. Having recommitted to each other at the end of last season, Joanne (Kristen Bell) and Noah (Adam Brody) are now moving in together, and season three is all about the many “firsts” of building a shared life rather than the will-they-won’t-they drama of earlier episodes.

Meanwhile, the slow-burning tension between Noah’s brother Sasha and Joanne’s sister Morgan looks set to come to a head now that both are single. Andrew Rannells and Sarah Silverman join the ensemble, and the showrunners have promised a lighter, more celebratory season.

5. The Terminal List (Season 2) – Amazon Prime Video

When: Wednesday 21 October, all eight episodes.

Four years after the first season became a streaming smash, Chris Pratt returns as Navy SEAL James Reece. Season one was a raw revenge thriller in which Reece hunted down everyone responsible for the ambush that killed his platoon and his family. Season two adapts Jack Carr’s follow-up novel, True Believer, and opens with a grieving Reece heading for Mozambique before being drawn into a sprawling international espionage plot.

Constance Wu, Tom Hopper, Dar Salim, Luke Hemsworth and Gabriel Luna return, joined by Olga Kurylenko, Arnold Vosloo and Costa Ronin. If you caught the Taylor Kitsch prequel The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, this is the next piece of the puzzle.

6. Crystal Lake – Sky Atlantic and NOW

When: Monday 19 October, with all eight episodes streaming on NOW.

Just in time for Halloween, A24’s prequel to the Friday the 13th franchise tells the story of Pamela Voorhees, the original killer of the 1980 slasher. Linda Cardellini stars as Pam, a single mother who gave up a singing career to raise her son Jason and who is still consumed by grief almost a year after he drowned in the town lake.

When two strangers turn up asking questions about her past, a chain of disturbing events begins and the people of Crystal Lake start to wonder who Pam Voorhees really is. Brad Caleb Kane, the writer behind IT: Welcome to Derry, is the showrunner, making this a must for horror fans looking for a seasonal binge.

7. It Gets Worse – Channel 4

When: Thursday 22 October, around 10pm, also streaming on Channel 4’s app.

Comedian Leo Reich writes and stars in this new London-set sitcom about Ethan, Abi and Sam, three best friends from university who now share a chaotic flat. After being evicted, the trio stumble through their twenties, juggling disappointing jobs and messy love lives while clinging to the one thing that still works: their friendship. It is a sharp, generational comedy that sits neatly alongside Channel 4’s other autumn comedy launch, Break Clause.

How to Plan Your TV and Streaming Week

With so much arriving at once, it pays to be strategic. The two Sunday-night dramas are both free to watch, and because This City Is Ours drops as a full box set on BBC iPlayer while Adultery is available in full on ITVX, you can watch one live and binge the other later in the week. Netflix subscribers have the easiest decision: start Nobody Wants This on Thursday and save Lupin for a Friday-night binge.

If you are weighing up which subscriptions to keep, this is a strong week for Netflix and Prime Video, while horror fans may find a one-month NOW Entertainment pass worthwhile for Crystal Lake. Remember too that Disney+ raised its UK prices for new subscribers from 14 October, so it is worth checking your plan before renewing.
